PEOPLE-ORIENTED - EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR - BUSINESS PARTNER

For one of our clients in Sint Maarten, we are looking for a proactive and strategic HR Advisor to support the organization in developing and implementing HR initiatives that drive business success and foster a people-centric culture. This role requires a strong business partner who can collaborate with leadership, provide expert guidance on HR policies and practices, and contribute to the overall employee experience.

Role
As an HR Advisor, you will play a crucial role in aligning HR strategies with organizational goals, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and implementing best practices in talent management, employee engagement, and leadership development. You will also support change management initiatives and work closely with managers to build a culture that promotes collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement. You will report directly to the HR Manager and this position is based in Sint Maarten. Your key responsibilities and duties include:

Business Partner

  • Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives and workforce planning needs.
  • Provide expert advice on organizational design, leadership development, and change management strategies.
  • Use HR data and analytics to assess workforce trends, improve HR processes, and support decision-making.


Talent Management & Development

  • Oversee performance management processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and employee growth.
  • Support succession planning efforts to ensure leadership continuity and talent pipeline development.
  • Advise managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.


Employee Engagement & Wellbeing

  • Develop and implement engagement initiatives that enhance job satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
  • Partner with business leaders to cultivate an inclusive workplace culture that supports professional and personal development.
  • Design and promote employee wellbeing programs that address mental, physical, and emotional health.


HR Policy & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies, advising leadership on regulatory updates and risks.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies that align with organizational values and best practices.
  • Monitor adherence to HR policies and procedures, ensuring fair and transparent people management practices.


Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in HR, with a focus on strategic HR initiatives, employee relations, and business partnership.
  • Strong advisory and communication skills, with the ability to influence and support leadership.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive data-informed HR strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple HR projects and initiatives while maintaining attention to detail.
