Position

For our client in the gaming industry, we are seeking a Legal Counsel. In this role, you will provide crucial support on a variety of legal matters. You will operate in a dynamic and fast-changing environment where your expertise in areas such as commercial law, data protection, and gaming regulations will be highly valued.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Provide legal advice and support in areas such as commercial law, data protection, employment law, and gaming regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements related to commercial initiatives, including marketing, payment services, and supplier agreements.
  • Offer legal and regulatory support for existing and new markets.
  • Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulations relevant to your role.
  • Draft and review legal documents, such as resolutions, letters, NDAs, and powers of attorney.
  • Mitigate legal risks and advise on contractual terms and conditions.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ethical and legal conduct.
  • Provide training on legal and regulatory developments.
  • Ensure compliance with both local and international regulators, including regulatory and technical aspects.
  • Handle player complaints and claims.
  • Manage and oversee the due diligence process (KYC/KYB) to establish and maintain business relationships with third-party providers, financial institutions, and regulators.
  • Advise and collaborate with other departments on contractual matters and player disputes.
  • Organize and maintain internal governance, including minutes from annual general meetings.

Profile

The ideal candidate has a solid legal background and a strong affinity for the gaming industry. You have a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into understandable advice for various stakeholders within the organization.

Requirements

  • Completed a bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field;
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in commercial or corporate law;
  • Knowledge and experience in commercial law, data protection, and gaming regulations are a plus;
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Papiamentu and Dutch are a plus;
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
