Senior Manager Sales

For one of our clients in the insurance industry, we are looking for a strategic and result-driven Senior Manager Sales. In this role you will be part of the Management Team and report directly to the Managing Director. The organisation is selling commercial General Insurances as well as retail and commercial Life Insurances across the Dutch Caribbean.

Your responsibilities
You will guide a team of around 10 direct reports, consisting of Account Managers in both General and Life Insurances, based in Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba. Your primary focus will be to guide, support, and develop this team through strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship. The team is highly skilled and operates with a high level of independence. In addition, you will:

• Define and execute the sales strategy, including setting departmental targets and developing business and budget plans
• Provide direction to ensure the team successfully acquires new clients, retains existing clients, and grows the overall insurance portfolio
• Actively participate in weekly Management Team meetings
• Advise the Managing Director on strategic direction and financial objectives

Your profile
In addition to a strong strategic background in developing and implementing sales strategies, you bring solid experience within the insurance sector. Given the seniority of the role and the expertise of the team, you are expected to quickly add value. Furthermore, you:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree
• Have proven experience in the insurance industry in a senior role
• Have a strong track record in leading and developing sales teams
• Possess excellent communication skills in Dutch and English; proficiency in Papiamentu is a strong advantage
