Sr. Infrastructure Platform & Security Engineer

Job Description

The Infrastructure & Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and securing a complex enterprise operation spread across the Caribbean. You will coordinate, prioritize and build solutions to ensure the security and stability of the environment for current and future growth. You will partner with various business units and technology staff members to ensure IT platforms and communication systems are built and operated to meet customer needs. With your security and automation mindset you will ensure that all phases of patching and support, including installations, security and OS patches, upgrades, software, hardware, and operating system configuration issues are properly configured, monitored, tracked, and resolved.

  • Prepares annual IT operating budget, develops capital improvement budget, and evaluates the acquisition and installation of new equipment (hardware and software);
  • Develops and implements operating procedures and procedures for computer and Information Technology
  • Maintains a library of all system software and ensures all licensing requirements have been met and are current for all extant software;
  • Coordinates with outside vendors on the development, design and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages;
  • Is responsible for the development, review, testing and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans;
  • Is responsible for the telephony and telecommunication system;
  • Maintains all IT hardware, software, networking and audiovisual equipment, and integration with printing and telecom;
  • Stays on top of industry trends for IT, cybersecurity and other relevant areas;
  • Prepares and maintains all required Information System Security documentation;
  • Supervises, guides and/or manages team.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Network Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Systems or equivalent;
  • Professional certifications in Cloud technology, networking and security;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees;
  • Organized and efficient, prioritizes and responds to multiple requests quickly;
  • Experience working in public cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP) including account management, patching and configuration of cloud resources;
  • Experience planning, configuring, optimizing and deploying Microsoft Azure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, VMs, AD, AADS, Automation, Monitor, etc.);
  • Experience within the following areas of technology; storage, networks, Windows domains, DNS, DHCP and firewalls;
  • Experience in enterprise patching platforms such as SCCM, WSUS, BigFix or Tanium;
  • Experience dealing with vendors;
  • Experience in automation of server installs, procedures and cloud resources;
  • Knowledge of enterprise ticket software solutions such as SysAid and other monitoring tools including SCOM and BPM;
  • Proficiency working with Hyper-V or VMware servers highly preferred;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing highly scalable, resilient and secured networks;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 through Server 2016- OS installation/configuration;
  • Experience with Windows administration and patching;
  • Experience with Windows failover clustering, file services, DFS (2012/2016/2019);
  • Experience with VPN, VoIP and Free PBX or another telecommunication technology;
  • Experience with network protocols, network security including firewalls such as FortiNet, CheckPoint or Palo Alto, log analytics, network monitoring and diagnostic tools;
  • Skilled at negotiating.
